So for ‘Gifted’ weekend I art directed ‘The Astro Machine’ Project. Since interning at Bearspace Gallery I have been involved in the idea generation and marketing strategies for the Gallery. Sometimes it can be a daunting experience entering a large quite gallery for the first time so this project aims to break down these boundaries and allow the public to feel more comfortable with approaching and entering the gallery.
Working the the talent illustrator Michael Julings we have created a two day event which is a live window art display. This will allow people to stop and watch and feel like they are happy to approach the gallery and enter discussion or just interact with the space itself. The Astro Machine (Astro being Greek for Star) was based on the core branding values of Bearspace Gallery itself. From looking at the bear constillations and much brainstorming between me and Julings the piece begins to come to life!
Look out for the finished piece tomorrow or if you are in South London then come down and check it out yourself! :)
